The Bush & Beach Retreat began with a simple belief: dogs deserve a place that feels like a holiday, not a holding space.

After years of fostering, volunteering, and working closely with dogs of every temperament, I saw how deeply they thrive when given calm energy, structure, and the freedom to explore nature at their own pace.

When I moved to our peaceful acreage in Yandina Creek, the vision became clear. This wasn’t just a home — it was the perfect environment for dogs to decompress, play, learn, and feel genuinely understood. I wanted to create a retreat where every dog is treated as an individual, not one of many.

Wally, my gentle brindled Staffy cross, has been part of this story from the beginning. He’s the heart of the retreat — steady, friendly, and beautifully intuitive with visiting dogs. Watching him help nervous pups settle or guide confident dogs through the bush reminded me that the best care is personal, quiet, and deeply connected.

Today, The Bush & Beach Retreat is intentionally small — just one or two dogs at a time — so every guest receives the kind of attention and emotional safety that’s impossible in busy environments. Dogs spend their days exploring the bush, enjoying enrichment, resting in cozy indoor spaces, and joining me for beach adventures. Their owners receive honest communication and daily updates, because trust is the foundation of everything we do.
