Welcome to The Bush & Beach Retreat — a small, personalised dog‑care service in Yandina, offering a calm, home‑style environment where your dog receives our full attention.
We specialise in one‑on‑one care, accepting one dog at a time to ensure safety, comfort, and a stress‑free stay.
Families with two dogs are welcome, provided both dogs are from the same household and have completed a successful meet‑and‑greet and been approved for boarding or daycare.
Our focus is on creating a peaceful, predictable space where dogs can relax, feel secure, and enjoy their stay as part of our family.
Our retreat is set on a spacious acreage property, surrounded by gum trees and birdsong. Dogs enjoy bush walks, beach outings, enrichment games, and cozy indoor rest — all tailored to their individual needs.
We don’t do kennels, crowds, or chaos. We do calm energy, emotional safety, and honest communication — including daily updates with photos and videos so you always feel connected.
Whether your dog is here for a day retreat or an overnight stay, they’ll be treated like family.
Because here, every detail is crafted with care — from the welcome moment to the final tail wag.
Our Story
The Bush & Beach Retreat began with a simple belief: dogs deserve a place that feels like a holiday, not a holding space.
After years of fostering, volunteering, and working closely with dogs of every temperament, I saw how deeply they thrive when given calm energy, structure, and the freedom to explore nature at their own pace.
When I moved to our peaceful acreage in Yandina Creek, the vision became clear. This wasn’t just a home — it was the perfect environment for dogs to decompress, play, learn, and feel genuinely understood. I wanted to create a retreat where every dog is treated as an individual, not one of many.
Wally has been part of this story from the beginning. He’s the heart of the retreat — steady, friendly, and beautifully intuitive with visiting dogs. Watching him help nervous pups settle or guide confident dogs through the bush reminded me that the best care is personal, quiet, and deeply connected.
Today, The Bush & Beach Retreat is intentionally small — just one or two dogs at a time — so every guest receives the kind of attention and emotional safety that’s impossible in busy environments. Dogs spend their days exploring the bush, enjoying enrichment, resting in cozy indoor spaces, and joining me for beach adventures. Their owners receive honest communication and daily updates, because trust is the foundation of everything we do.
